Maryland Sea Grant Extension Program
The Maryland Sea Grant (MDSG) Extension Program is the outreach and education arm of Maryland Sea Grant College and a branch of USM Cooperative Extension Service. Sea Grant Extension is comprised of a group of specialists that have expertise in aquaculture, shellfish production, seafood safety, marine education, water quality, and communications. Since 1995, MDSG Extension has been integrally involved in the development and implementation of COMB Education and Outreach Programs and has provided the link to interactive web lessons that mirror the SciTech Education Program lab content. Mr. J. Adam Frederick, MDSG Extension Marine Education Specialist serves as the SciTech Co-Director along with Gary Coleman, Director of Education for UMBI. MDSG Extension has been an invaluable resource in the success of the SciTech Education Programs, and has developed and maintained a vital connection in the K-16 education community in Maryland from teachers to the State Department of Education.

Olympus America
Olympus America Inc., was an original donor to the SciTech Education Programs in 1995 and has continued their partnership by providing SciTech with a suite of microscopy equipment not found in any other K-12 educational program. The suite of microscopes provides SciTech with the capabilities to provide a unique experience for students and teachers but also allow SciTech participants to experience state of the art digital imaging, video-microscopy, and 35mm-photography. The Microscopes have not only been a vital asset in SciTech but have been viewed and utilized by a wide audience not limited to teachers and students. COMB scientists have made inquiries about the microscopes and they have routinely been used for imaging by scientists and graduate students and have lead to purchases of Olympus Microscopes in the COMB laboratories.
