The ExPERT program has been developed to provide teachers with unique opportunity to work directly with researchers in order to experience inquiry as the single most important everyday activity that scientists conduct. Inquiry fosters keen critical thinking and problem solving skills, both of which are essential for science literacy. By joining our teacher-scientist community, teachers become more comfortable with modeling and promoting authentic inquiry. This experience will help teachers design inquiry-based activities and methodologies that can be applied to their classroom curricula.
