Baltimore, October 15, 2008: MBC's Dr. Chris Geddes, head of the Institute of Fluorescence, received his Innovator of the Year award at a ceremony on October 15 held at the Visionary Art Museum. He had been named one of ten Innovators of the Year by the Daily Record in August. The Daily Record is one of the premier business publications in Maryland. The award recognizes the development of microwave accelerated metal enhanced fluorescence assays which are poised to revolutionize the way chemicals, biochemicals, and even microorganisms are measured in laboratories or in the field. The Geddes' laboratory is a pioneer in metal enhanced fluorescence.
Dr. Geddes was also profiled in the October 17 issue of the Daily Record.
