September, 2008: MBC Director W. Jonathan Lederer gave the 2008 Isaac Starr Lecture sponsored by the Cardiac Systems Dynamics Society at Washington University of St. Louis, September 29, 2008. This small society, founded in 1976 by organ system physiologist and biomedical engineers, was a historic first in its mathematical and quantitative approach to cardiovascular mechanics. This was the 16th Starr Lecture, which is given every two years.
