FCD Mission Statement

Why we are here

  1. The Forum for Colombian Development was organized for the express purpose of exchanging information between the scientific community in Colombia and the Washington Metropolitan Area.
  2. Provide an avenue for technical contribution from Colombians living and/or studying abroad to Colombia.
  3. To establish links and conduits of information between the Colombian scientific community in Colombia and those living in the exterior, FCD is also the Washington, DC Node of the Red Caldas. In this capacity, it is the one in a constelation of nodes in all seven contients of the globe. FCD activites include the information exchange not only to the Colombian scientific community in Colombia but to it's fellow Red Caldas nodes.

  1. Red Caldas is Internet communication established and managed by Colciencias. This listerv system was established to communicate with and among Colombian researchers throughout the world and their counterparts in Colombia.

What is Colciencias?

Colciencias is the quasi governmental org to spearhead, foster and expand research and scientfic intitives between goverment, academic and industry entities.
