Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Molecular Biology or related field.
Experience in molecular biology and microbiology is required; experience
in proteomics and protein purification desirable.
Applicant must have a successful publication history.
Responsibilities:
The candidate will conduct research in environmental
molecular biology studying microbial consortia that reductively dechlorinate
polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) by selective enrichment and comparative
analysis of 16S rRNA. Techniques
will include development of anaerobic enrichment cultures, isolation of
anaerobic microorganisms, PCR-mediated gene amplification, gene cloning, vector
construction, comparative sequence analysis of 16S rDNA using DGGE and ARDRA.
Publication of research in peer-reviewed journals is expected.
Salary:
Commensurate with experience
